Happy January 2012 Stitching. Hope everyone had a Very Blessed Holiday Season....

Lots to share....Have a few classes to share with you first off. If you have not signed up for class please do so by calling the store or better yet come in sign up and see what is new....and on Sale....

Posy Patch Quilt Class with Sandy Turner..... Saturdays, February 4 and March 3....10am to 4pm.....This is a two block quilt with optional scalloped border......Class fee $60.00

Finished size depends on your border size. Individual blocks finished size 12".....This is a pieced and appliqued (Machine or Hand) quilt....Your border choice will be the deciding factor of the colors you choose for your blocks. Sample in store.....

Bow Tucks Tote....Purse Class with Sue Snowdy.... Sundays 1-4 February 19th and 26th.....Class fee $30.00....Pattern available now...Sample in store....

We are also considering a Beginning Quilting Class on Wednesday nights ...5:30 - 8:30..... We hope to start in February.....If you are interested please call us ASAP so I can start

preparing.....If will be a fun class using precut strips (Jelly Rolls). It will be a 4 week session to start.... The fee will be determined on the class size.....

Sue has another Purse in the making stage for another class in March....It is using 2 1/2" strips also....It is called BAILEY ISLAND HOBO Bag... Pattern sample made with Hoffman Bali Pops. Can be made with any Jelly Roll or your own precut strips. This will be another fun class...in late March/April....

We have two Retreats scheduled for this month.....Third Saturday Club Retreat.....Saturday, January 21 & 22......Still openings available to join this Club....Let me know if you are interested....

Piggy Farm Family Retreat is scheduled for January 27, 28 & 29.....This is a private family retreat and do they have fun!!!!!

Also all Selected Christmas Fabrics and panels are on sale.....A Good time to start something for next year. All fabric $5.00 @ yard and all panels $5.00 a piece. I have selected a few other bolts to throw into the $5.00 sale also....

The new Thimbleberries 2012 Garden Party started this month and also the new Michael Miller Swirly Girls Club started.....Check out the info on the web site.

Just a Reminder this is Basketball Season time for me and with Sons coaching over in the Bakersfield area I will be leaving early on some of the game days during January and February. I do sometimes have Virginia, Judy, Sue or Cindy here to help you if I am gone....(.BE Nice to them so they will not quit)....only kidding of course...

Adult Ed with Bobbi Starts here on Thursday, Jan 26th......so all Thursdays remaining till then are open sew days.....

UFP Club start fresh again this year .....One project at a time this year....Each one you choose to finish there will be a $10.00 fee (even if it takes all year to finish)...I am not asking you to have it quilted to be finished this year.....I am more interested in you getting your tops done!!! If you come to UFP Club day and work on something else....YOU WILL BE FINED $10.00 (SUNDAY OR TUESDAY CLUB).....Also any supplies needed to finish the designated project will be given a 15% discount on Club day/night. UFP CLUB MEETS ON THE Second Sunday of each month (except in January) and the second Tuesday Night of each month.....See you there....

Genealogy Classes with Sheila Davis are every Monday.....You may join in at any time.....10am - noon......$15.00 per session or you can prepay for 4 session at a time for $50.00. You do need to bring your lap top for the class. They are finding some pretty interesting info about there past family histories!!!! Come join!

Happy Stitching to all. I started this newsletter earlier today.....had it almost done when the phone rang.....went to answer....came back to finish and send;) then hit a wrong key and lost the whole thing:(..... Tried and tried to find it....NO LUCK..... So here we go again....

Hard to believe this year 2011 is coming to a end....This has been a very trying year for me and my family and I know it has been that way also for so many of you....Let's try and forget all that negative stuff and enjoy this Christmas season for the reason it is meant for....Celebrating when the kindness and love of God our Savior Jesus appreared....Thanks be to God our Savior for this indescribable gift of salvation....A Blessed and Merry Christmas to All....

and remember it's basketball season and I have two sons coaching and we try to go to as many games as possible......Love those bball games.....

Our new Mini Series #5 starts Dec. 22nd ....this year we will be adding some fabric painting on a few of the months (much fun).....Still time for a few more to sign up.....

Also starting this month "A Dog's Life"...a 4 month Block of Month from Lynette Anderson.....my favorite (applique and embroidery with a bit of piecing)....

Creative Patches is celebrating today it's 14th Birthday.....Can not believe it......lots of changes and challenges, but thanks to all of you I am still here......

I still have three openings for the END OF YEAR GIRL GANG RETREAT Friday, Dec. 30 & 31 and Jan. 1 Sunday, 2012......$30.00 for the three days/nights....

Soups and salads will be the menu.....please call now to reserve your sewing spot. If you presigned up and did not make your payment, please do so now ...If we do not hear from you by the 10th of December we will start pulling spots from the waiting list......Time to get more of those projects finished to start fresh next year...

Genealogy classes with Sheila Davis start up again in January on Monday the 9th for 4 weeks from 10am to noon....Mark you calendar.....pre-register $50.00

MONTHLY MINI SERIES #5 for 2012

Happy Stitching....Now is the time for me to start sharing the new programs provided through Creative Patches to you. This monthly Mini Series has been very successful for two years and I am planning to continue it for another year. Signs up are being taken now as we start the program December 20th of this year.....I have to commit to numbers by the 1st of December so if you have not signed up yet please contact me to do so as soon as possible...

Table Stand used throughout the year is a $10.00 charge and the sign up fee is $10.00
Each monthly pattern, stand header, fabric and embellishment when necessary fee is $28.50 @ month.....This is a fast and fun project.....Can be done and finished within a couple hours.....

I am putting all the new programs on my web site also, so you can check them out there also....

Next I will be sharing Thimbleberries, Michael Miller Club, Jan Patek's Girl Gang, and a couple more new programs that we will be doing next year. Keep checking your emails.....Happy Stitching, Patti

All Around the Neighborhood.....This is a fun easy pieced project you can work on throughout the year.....It Starts January 2011 and is for 12 months. Each month you will get your pattern and a fat quarter to use in that block or in another block (your choice)....You will provide your own background fabric (you will need 2 1/4 yds total for the background and borders)....you can do this scrappy or all one color as the picture shows..... The sign up fee is $10.00 and the monthly fee is $10.00.....

I am also planning to start this new program in December it is called All Around the Neighborhood (a 12 month program).....I will be supplying one piece of fabric with each month for your choice to use in that block....More info later after seeing how many of you are interested in this....

Happy Stitching....Two new happenings at the Patches House

Starting Monday Sept 12 for 4 Mondays (12, 19, 26 and Oct 3)....Sheila Davis will be starting her Geneology classes here at Creative Patches.....This class will be for beginners and/or intermediate students. The air waves are being installed on the 29th of August, so just bring your lap top and note pad to the first class and get started. Time of class is 10- 12 noon...Fee for the class series is $50.00 What a deal....You may find some long lost cousin you never even knew about....or even some info you may never wanted to know, but anyway it will be a fun and exciting new adventure....Please contact the store ASAP and register with Class fee ASAP so we know how many students to set up for....

Starting the second Saturday of each month (Sept. 10th) and so on...."The Scrapbookers" are coming to Creative Patches......9am to 9pm.....Space fee is $10.00 Any one interested contact Diana at 929-0284....Space is limited as much room (table wise) is needed for each scrapbooker....!!!!

Don't forget this month is August Clearance time at Creative Patches.....The sale wall must go by the end of August!!!! I need more room for new fabrics, etc coming into the store......Check the front page of the web site for SALE info.....

This month is half over.....can not believe school is back in session.....Fall session with Bobbi Porter starts Thursday, August 25th.....then the Holidays are just around the corner....

I have decided to do the Block of Month "It's Raining Cats and Dogs" MY WAY.....I have started to receive some of the fabrics I will be using and hopefully I can get my first block done soon to give you a sample of where I am taking this BOM.......I also received a new BOM Pattern by The Quilt Company called "Little Red Barns". I will not be kitting this, but am getting much of the fabrics used in this quilt in the store during August/September.

This Month's Retreat time belongs to the '*Piggy Farm Family" August 26-28....;

I have had a Scrap booking group approach me to schedule a time once a month for "SCRAPBOOKING" We are starting it on the 2nd Saturdays of each month with the first time starting Saturday, September 10th 9am - 9pm....If you are interested please, please call me so I can let Diana know how many people to plan for....The fee for the day is $10.00 each time.....

What a great week it has been!!! First Jackson and his mom and dad came last Friday - Sunday. Then My beautiful Alison and her dad came on Monday and left today....We had not seen her for a few years. She has now graduated from high school and is off to college and in her own apartment...

Regarding Sunday, July 24th. The "Finish it Class" with Sandy Turner has been cancelled until August 21st...same time.
Open Sewing will still be available on Sunday....July 24th 9-4.....

Classic Quilters come in Friday and Saturday this week also for their Retreat time....

Have decided to do "Raining Cats and Dogs" BOM by Bunny Hill designs "MY WAY"...That means I will be kitting it with different fabrics than the picture shows. Happy Stitching again.....Before I share with more new Block of Months starting in September I have a few other items to share....
First......The Nipomo Guild Luncheon and meeting on May 26th has to be CANCELLED due to the Church having some emergency repair issues......They are so so sorry....

Arriving this past week also were Batik Textiles new spring 1yd cuts ...These are some of the new batik fabric lines they will be sharing at Quilt Market next week.

Happy May Stitching......Well another month has flown by again......Hope you all had a Happy Easter.....We had Jackson at our house, so you know I had a great one....This coming weekend is the "Seven Sisters Quilt Show" in San Luis Obispo.....Hope you are planning to attend...

I am bringing in new Cosmo floss.....will still carry DMC, but because Bunny Hill Designs and Lynette Anderson use and recommend Cosmo Floss for their projects I am bringing some of the colors they use and recommend with their projects.....

NINTY NINE PATCH...STARTS MAY 2011 TO JULY 2012
I have made my decision for "First Saturday" 2011-2012....this will be a 13 month program with Month #14 being the finishing of the Sampler....
The finished size of this quilt will be approximately 65" square....I have picked "Nifty Nine-Patch Sampler".....I am running it a bit different this time...
There is a $10.00 pre-sign up fee......I need this and your commitment before April 15th as I need to order the fabric for the complete 14 months.....This will be a 3 color quilt for the Blacks & Tan Color Choice, and the Batik Blues and Cream. The third Color Choice will be completely scrappy.....no theme....

What a great "Girls Weekend Retreat" we had last weekend.....The next one is Memorial Weekend.....starting May 27th and sewing till Monday night May 30th.....We are taking names for the waiting list if you are interested.

Lots of new fabrics have arrived and more is on the way as I write....UPS just dropped off Mary Englebreight's new "Tea Decadence" and Red Rooster's "Treet Others with Kindness"..Also we just finished "My Garden" mystery from Lynette Andersen and will be starting her newest Mystery "Christmas Fun".....This is just to name a few what's new....Also just starting to come into the store is "Adelaide" by Marcus Brothers to go with the Pattern we have called "Faithful and Devoted"....

I have made my decision for "First Saturday" 2011-2012....this will be a 13 month program with Month #14 being the finishing of the Sampler....

The finished size of this quilt will be approximately 65" square....I have picked "Nifty Nine-Patch Sampler".....I am running it a bit different this time...

There is a $10.00 pre-sign up fee......I need this and your commitment before April 15th as I need to order the fabric for the complete 14 months.....This will be a 3 color quilt for the Blacks & Tan Color Choice, and the Batik Blues and Cream. The third Color Choice will be completely scrappy.....no theme....

Now for February.....Everything is pretty much back to normal except me.....I am still struggling over where to put everything in my office/storage area and the sewing room.....I went out and purchased a very large trash can to dump drawers full of left over BOM scraps, First Saturday left over cuts, etc and before I was half finished dumping I had ONE trash barrel full! New York Beauty Class with Sandy Turner has been cancelled due to lack of student sign-ups... UFP SEWING CLUB make-up classes for the month of January due to the Class Room Repairs...These are the new dates for this month only..... Sunday, 10-4.....January 23rd and Tuesday night 5-9....January 18th.....Share the info with your non-email friends please.... Three UFP projects and a $10.00 deposit will get you started.... New Classroom pictures taken 6:30 pm tonight Wednesday, Jan. 12th...Looks great...design walls not up yet....

The tree is gone from in front of the Patches House....This morning when I arrived the tree crew from SLO County were there to finally remove that ugly eye sore of a tree that has been dying in front of the store.....They still have a bit of work to do, but this will mean more parking areas outside the store and now that Arco Glass has closed we will have more parking spots in the parking lot also.....What a great day this was...

.....Tomorrow (Thursday) I get the spot Arco Glass was in (new paint and carpet there also) to turn into a office and storage area for me...Then I can turn the other spot I was using as my office into my sewing area....I can hardly wait to be able to have a sewing area for me to create again......

ISN'T IT LOOKING GREAT!!!!! NEW FLOORS, REPAIRED WALLS, NEW PAINT, !!!! JODY AND HIS CREW HAVE DONE A TERRIFIC JOB!
IF YOU EVER NEED A GENERAL CONTRACTOR....TALK TO ME!

Today is rug day and possibly tomorrow....Jody and crew have cleaned all my windows, scrubbed down all the chairs, today they will clean up all the tables..After the inside is done the doors are getting a new paint job....This class room will be just like new. Then Jody has a few little touching up jobs to do out side....

Wednesday let's have a All Clubs/Workshops Open Sew Day and Night..........and continue into Thursday.....(That means the normal Tuesday Stitch and Giggle Club can come and sew this week on Wednesday.

A progress Report.....Monday and Tuesday the carpet is being laid....Painting will also be finished inside tomorrow and touch up outside Monday.....I will have the class room back Wednesday!!!! Can't wait to see everyone and have warm bodies sewing, stitching and creating again.....I may not have all the curtains up, design walls up, but tables, chairs, etc will be up and ready for use.....

I heard from Lynette Anderson via her blog site that she has been working on her next new mystery button pattern....We have two more months of "My Garden" to do....I can hardly wait for the new one to begin Lynette says in her info below maybe March....

I have already started the sign up for the next new Mystery...If you are interested please let me know so I know how many buttons/patterns to sign up for this new stitchery (I think I see a sneak peek of a snowman in the picture below).....

Progress Report #5..Wed. Dec. 29

When they arrived this morning the room was full or water again, but Jody and his crew did some miracle work and with the help of the sump pump the water has disappeared for now....They worked hard today getting the subfloor in and removing all the rest of the side wall....removed all the curtains, design walls I had left in the room before all this started....moved the refrig up on a platform so it was not down lower like before....They turned on a portable heater tonight to help dry out the room.....It looks like maybe mid to late next week I can start putting things back in place with their help of course for the big things....Designs walls, curtains, etc will be done at a later time....Lots of work to do.....

Don't for get the SALE that is going on now through Friday, Dec. 31st.....I keep finding new items to add to the color wall and the half price buckets.....

PROGRESS REPORT #4

Well I waited all day today (Monday) for someone to come and remove the mud and water from the front of the classroom.....NO ONE CAME ALL DAY!!!!... I was not a happy quilter today, so I decided to work on something new and positive....First thing I worked on was a mystery quilt....(I will share this today) and the other project ...I joined "Eleanor Burn's Pattern A Month Club"...I will share this with you tomorrow...I am working on the sample now....

It appears that I will NOT HAVE A CLASS ROOM AVAILABLE UNTIL TUESDAY, JAN. 4TH...I will have the room available then if they have to work all night to get the room up and going for me...The rain has caused some problems, but they knew I needed my classroom back....I asked for it to be available Dec. 29....so maybe they need to work Friday and Sunday this week to make up for some days they seem to have forgotten to work!!!

Now the mystery....

Progress Report #3....

Sump Pump installed today....Everything moved from front of store to back wall except refrig...Work starts on Monday with the floor/ground on up front of classroom...There is not as much mud up front for now, but it has to be removed, graded, then fabric (how appropriate) and gravel put down....As soon as all dries out the new floor and wall will start coming in and then the carpet.....It may take all next week they told me today, all depends on the weather!!!!

The other issues that need to be addressed will be done soon, but after the room is put back together....
We may have a few other days of slight inconvience, but not closed...

I will be open Friday, Dec. 24th to 4pm...then I too will be closed until Sunday, Dec. 26th....open 1-4pm...
Remember this is the last week of the Sale on regular priced fabric (now $9.00 per yd).....The Color wall will be $7.00 this last week of December then back to $8.00 per yard in 2011....Also I have added many more books, patterns and notions to the 50% off baskets....

Have a Blessed Christmas and a safe one...We drive to Bakersfield to spend the day with our family and Pilar's parents....They are coming in from Texas for the holiday time....It is always such a blessing to see and spend time with them....

PROGRESS REPORT

Well after 2 large trailor loads of floor gone (yesterday) and 2 large trailor loads of mud and water (shoveled by hand into buckets)... the ground has now been leveled so all the water will drain into the middle of the floor and a sump pump goes in to remove the water from the rains, etc so it does not stand...

They have few other issues they will be doing to prevent this from happening, but some of those issues can be done after the rains and during spring and summer....

Tomorrow Jody and his crew can be back again to start putting a new floor down, etc. These pictures look wonderful compared to what it looked like last night...

This crew( 6-7 men) started working this morning at 7 am and are just now getting ready to leave (4:30pm)...They worked very hard!!!! moving out all that Mud!!!

So it looks good for possibly sewing next week....The carpet man came by also to check on the progress...He is ready to place the new carpet when the floor is done....

Does not look to good, but I have great faith in Jody and his crew making it beautiful....

A VISIT FROM PLUTO

Yesterday we had a visit from Pluto bearing Christmas cookies...Pluto's helper had been very busy preparing darling baskets full of different kinds of Christmas cookies....Mine was full of many different treats, but mostly oatmeal cookies filled with CRANBERRIES...my favorite....
Hope you all have a great Saturday....It is pouring rain here....our sunny warm weather has gone by-by....We are all enjoying a sewing retreat day...watching the rain come down through the windows....Even Pluto is busy sewing making pillow cases....
Remember tomorrow starts the big class room floor project....I will take progress pictures, so keep checking....In fact today when I arrived
we had a leak so besides the floor we have an additional job for the workers....Happy Stitching...stay dry, Patti

Adult Ed Christmas Party 2010

Much fun was had by all that attended the Adult Ed Christmas Party today.....After a delicious pot luck lunch it was time for Gift Exchange ....Everyone went hope with a great gift even after many swaps....

Peggy loved the colorful spool garland for her tree, but she did not get to take it home, but she loved what she did end up with just as much.....
Adult Ed Session is now on break until January 27th, 2011....but every Thursday starting December 30 will be open sewing for all from 9-4......This Sunday (Dec. 19th) starts the repair work on the class room floor. I am curious to see what they find when they remove the rug!!!
You are all welcomed to peek, but DO NOT DISTURB THE WORKERS......they are on a tight schedule so we can get back and start stitching again!!!! and also safety and insurance reasons of course.....

Working on January's calendar and newsletter.....I have a great new 6 month mystery to share with all starting in January....It has a holiday theme so you can have it done by Christmas time 2011.....It will be fun...I will furnish some fabric, you will furnish the rest....I will share all the important info in the newsletter, etc....

Jackson and his Uncle Jeff

What a wonderful day we had yesterday.....Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving...Pilar fixed an outstanding feast for all of us....Very seldom get a picture of Jackson with his Uncle Jeff....They were viewing all of his pictures of Alison and Lauren on his phone...Jackson thought that was so much fun...Rich had 5 of his basketball players there also to share the day with us.....This of course is that time of the year when basketball season starts...my favorite time of the year...
Have been working on the December schedule and of course next year's 2011 schedule...Hope you all have been checking out the web site for all the Block of Months that have and will be starting....
Got to even hear from our Alison yesterday, but no Lauren.....Hope they had a great day also....
Again, happy happy day to all and will be talking again soon...Piggy Farm Family Retreat started yesterday and I am here sewing with them today also....Come on down and say "Hello" to all....

HAVING FUN IN TEXAS....

HAPPY STITCHING DAY TO ALL.... Well it's the end of Oct today and I can hardly believe it.....The pictures are of Jackson having fun at his grandparents home in Texas...He is due back in Calif today with his mommy....As you can see he was having a great time...memories that will live with him forever....

Remember this week Nov. 1, 2 & 3 the "Valley Girls" Retreat is happening and all other events are cancelled for this week Mon through Wed....Naturally you can still come shop and enjoy the savings on fabric and selected books, patterns, jelly rolls, layer cakes.....

Saturday Nov 6th will be my Annual Open House...promoting all the new Block of Months, Sewing Clubs and having on display many of the Store Sample Quilts that are for Sale on the "CP Quilt Sales and Designs" department of the Web Site....We will be also serving refreshments..

On Saturday also is First Saturday 9am or 4pm....and...."Girl Gang Sewing" ... We work on many projects, but mostly current BOM's we are trying to finish so we can start new ones next year!!!!

Nov 4th is Adult Ed Sewing Day....9-4 and Friday Nov 5th is Nipomo Comfort Quilt Day 9-3...then on Friday Night is "Pizza Sewing Night Fun"....anyone can come and join in the fun....

WHAT A GREAT DAY....IT STARTED WITH A EMAIL AND PICTURE FROM MY BEAUTIFUL LAUREN....THEN A TWITTER PIC OF JACKSON VISITING "THE PUMPKIN FARM" IN TEXAS.....She is in 9th Grade this year and thinking of attending college already...Makes her grandma proud....She has grown up so much....I do know she is taller than me, but how much taller I don't know. As you can see from Jackson's picture he is getting taller also....He just turned 3 a month ago and is 3' 5"......

Then I started working on the Newsletter and trying to send the Nov calendar again....Well I did the newsletter and have tried sending it three times....So if you get the newsletter three times....????? Sometimes this electronic world just totally tests my patience and intelligence!!!

Anyway just had to share the beautiful grandchildren.....Of course Lauren brought tears to my eyes this morning as it had been a while since I heard from her.....love her so much...She even mentioned attending college some place in California.....I think somewhere on the Central Coast would be great and then she could come and help me at the shop???? Don't you all think this would be a great idea also.....

Learn to " SEW ANYTHING" with Christy !
Come and let your creativity run wild as you learn the basics of sewing.
This beginning sewing class will focus on technique, terminology, and design. It will be taught by a professional seamstress. You will learn the tools and tricks of the trade while creating fashionable items to enhance your wardrobe.
The class will begin November 8, 2010 at 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. It will be held every other Monday for 8 weeks. The fee for the session is $70.
The first project will be one of three choices. Make a purse, make an apron, or make pajama bottoms. You can be as creative as you want to be. Other projects will follow with increasing difficulty.

DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED IN ADVANCE....HALF NOW AND BALANCE AT CLASS TIME...Class size is limited.....
We will have a limited amount of sewing machines available if you do not have one...Please call the shop for details on this....
The dates will vary a bit for this first series due to the holidays...'

This week (Friday and Saturday) is the "Classic Quilters Retreat" ....They have such a good time.....I enjoy so much sewing with them......
Also coming in this week "Veggie Tales - Helping Hand"...Mrs Sew and Sew....French General's Maison De Garance....and many other wonder items.....

A great new pattern called "Paris in the Fall" which could become a BOM is I have enough interest....Also next year's pattern from Kansas City Quilters will be "Civil War Anniversary Love Quilt".....I have not further info on that other than the name....I am waiting very patiently to hear more about it and also the Michael Miller Clubhouse Quilt for 2011......Hopefully by the time of the OPEN HOUSE I will have those questions answered....

Presenting "STITCHED BY ME".....Lynette Anderson's new 7 part block of the month quilt, approx. size 35" x 43". The patterns are being printed as I type and will be ready to ship early next week from Australia....
Each block features some special buttons, Lynette had such fun designing and making them. To make life simple for you she decided that the buttons, the tape measure ribbon which she used on a couple of blocks and the paper hexagons for the little quilt that the birdcage is sitting on will come included with the pattern (on the appropriate months), so no hunting around for the odd bits and pieces!

The Night before Christmas Block of the month includes the pattern to complete the quilt as well as the fabric for the quilt top and binding....This quilt features French General;s La Petite Ecole collection by Moda Fabrics. The finished size is 52" x 62".....Backing fabric is not included...can be purchased separately...4yds is required for the backing.

DO YOU LOVE BARNS??? WELL I DO....So I am challenging you to join me in making a block each month....I will provide fabric (either country or batik, you choose) each month for a block of my choice (a mystery to you)...The sign up fee is $25.00 and you receive the book "Quilt Blocks on American Barns" by Eleanor Burns....the patterns of course will be in this book and you can use her choice of construction or your own choice....All blocks will be either 12" or 6" with the exception of the center block....You can create your own choice of how you wish to put the quilt together, add little critters, etc...It will be fun seeing everyone's different ideas....
The cost per month will be $17.50....We start the 20th of October and the blocks will be ready every month on the 20th for 14 months....When we get to the end and are ready for borders, binding I have set a Flat Fee of $25.00 and you can choose your own fabric from in the store....

Please contact me ASAP to sign up so I can order the book for you.....The book has many ideas and extra projects in it as well as great history/info about Quilt Blocks on American Barns.... My dad did not have a quilt block on his barn, but my Grandpa Ihle had his name and date it was build on his....Neither are there any more( age got my Gpa Ihle's and our barn got destroyed in a tornado...My grandpa Bengston's red barn is still standing and the people living on the farm now have turned it into a vineyard???

This is a 12 month BOM.....Designed by Jan Patek....This our third year of "Girl Gang"...This year I decided to take the BOM program to online customers....I will be selecting fabrics from stock in the store and will be as close to color choices in picture....

The size of the quilt is 69 x 89....We have enjoyed being a part of Jan's "Girl Gang" for the past two years. Beside your monthly pattern and fabric you will receive a recipe and some other goodies from Jan....

The Block of Month program has a Sign up Fee...$ 25.00 (this is non refundable)...This fee pays and commits you to your pattern for the year.... The monthly fee for Pattern and Fabric is $ 20.00 months 1-12, plus s/h charges for out of area "Girl Gang" Members....We hope to start this program November 1st...

Isn't he precious...? My dad would love to have seen this picture...
Jackson in Texas last week visiting is grandparents there...and sitting on his "gramps" riding lawn mover....I have pictures of my Rich and Jeff on my dad's riding lawn mower in Iowa when they went to visit...They thought they were something sitting there pretending...They also just loved it when my dad took them on rides and helped mow the barnyard....

Back to the SEWING world...Lots to share for the rest of this week and next week....The "Mini Quilt Hanging kits" arrived today...I will have them ready for mail/or pickup by the weekend....Then the October kit will be shipped to me the 15th, so that kit will be ready by the 24th of Sept. Then in October we will be on normal schedule....They ship me the patterns, hangers, buttons, etc the 15th of every month for the next months wall hanging so you can have it ready by the 1st of each month....So I should have the kits ready for you by the 21st of each month from October on.....any questions, please call me....805 929-3704...... ONLY THREE KIT SPOTS LEFT.....

This Friday the ASG is having their workshop/luncheon for Military Bags Sew-In from 10-2.....

Saturday is ASG (Central Coast Chapter) Pot Luck at the Patches House....All are invited...bring a dish to share, a friend, show and tell and ideas to share...
Time: 11-2. Also if you have questions as to what is ASG....this is a good time to come and find out....We hope to start a neighborhood group (of your liking) here every 2nd Saturday of the month....Your input is needed....Please come....

Future info regarding "Simple Sewing" with Andrea.....She will not be having her Saturday classes for the remainder of this year....We will start up again in January on the First Sat of each month from 10-1....any questions contact the store or Andrea....Mondays remain the same until further notice....2-9...any 3 hr session $15.00....let us know when you are coming please....

Next weekend....Saturday, Sept 18th is "Third Saturday Sewing Day at the Patches House....Also at St. Joseph's Church just down the street our "Nipomo Guild" is having a rummage/bake sale.....8:30 to 1pm.... lots of goodies!!!!

Hard to believe this little bundle of joy that arrived 17 years ago is now entering her Senior year in high school....Just wanted to share her beautiful senior year picture with so many of you that remember her as she and her beautiful sister Lauren use to help me in the shop.....They could run the shop now if they were here....maybe I would even get a day off now and then....Maybe just maybe Jackson will be over this weekend and I can share a new view of him....He is growing up to fast also...Will hope to share some info and picture of Lauren also soon, she started ninth grade this year.....

Just a note or two to remind you all of upcoming events and a few new ones....

Friday July 16th...It's session two of Kid's Camp...Check the blog site for pictures of finished quilts next week...I already shared Lexi's quilt as she had to leave grandma's house and go home this week...She will be missed...
Friday night the 16th is "Quilting Bee Club"...come and join us 4-9...$ 5.00 for the evening....
Saturday and Sunday, July 17 & 18...it's Third Saturday Sewing Club Retreat weekend....I also have the new 2011 Preview info for the Thimbleberries BOM.....I will post this to my online store after this weekend...It is really different and the fabric is very different!!!
I have also offered on my online shop two more new BOM programs that I will be offering through the store and online coming soon...
Next week July 20, 21 & 23 will be our Kids Camp Session #2....Be sure to check the web site and blog for pictures.....I love working with my new web site because I can add pictures for you all to see so much easier...I just wish I had more time to do more!!!!
Friday July 23rd is Fig Tree Club #4 workshop.....This quarters project pattern will be available shortly, so you can use all left over scraps, and charm squares.....or buy more??? The picture of this month's project "Blooming Meadow" is on the web site....check it out!!!!
Saturday, July 24th will be Sandy Turner's "Pine Bark" class...We still have openings....It is a very easy quilt to do, ....it looks hard, but it is only using fat quarters and making 4 patches.....the way it is put together gives you the illusion that is is difficult... This quilt top would also work great in neturals to use as a background for an appliqued quilt....Don't miss out on the chance of taking this class with Sandy....Even if you started one before with Sandy and have not finished....bring it and Sandy will help you finish......Class time is 10-4...

Today Patty Roberts brought in her granddaughter Lexie to
join Andrea Wednesday afternoon and the girls on Friday to learn also to sew...
This is so exciting so see all the new and young stitchers start creating....They
are so excited about learning and they ALL were very sure in selecting the fabrics and colors they want for their projects....There mothers were even in awe of this....Keep checking the blog site as tomorrow I hope to have Lexie's picture up with her pillow case....for sure a group picture when the camp quilts are finished....

Two new stitchers joined Andrea today (Monday)...They brought in their new Janome sewing machines....removed them from their boxes, spent a bit of time with Andrea learning their machines. Then to the shop to pick out fabric for their pillowcases.....Three hours later....Kristen & Kate (twin sisters) had their pillow cases completed......Great job girls!!!!

Today, Helena & Sadie joined Andrea to learn the use of their machine and to sew....
They left with new pillowcases they made and are joining Andrea next Monday to make
pajama bottoms to go with their pillow cases..

They also asked Andrea to schedule another Kids Camp since the other two are filled....so
we worked out two Fridays in July for Kid's Camp #3....

Fridays July 9th and 16th....10am to 2:30pm....$80.00
We will limit the size to 6 just like the other two, so if you are interested and missed

I can not sleep at night because my brain is trying to figure out all the things I need to add and do to get it up and running. My calendar is a issue, but they promise me that can be resolved....

Today the fabric from RJR "Holly Hill" by Robin Pandolph is suppose to arrive....then the kit possible by the end of this week....
